So basically, bears have somehow found their way down to the top floor of their current living situation. Just a couple, but they're kind of pissed and aggressive that they're down there. They were looking for food, but... obviously there's none to be found.

At least, by them. However, characters who may remember the roots from the TEST DRIVE MEME might be able to distract them so they don't have to actually fight them so much. Bears are not friendly, and cannot be talked down or Chris Pratt'd into submission. The only way is to kill them, and kill them clean for maximum profit. However, the catch is that Scraps still has that stipulation against those with assault crimes no matter the gender, women endangerment and battery. While this "special" lasts, characters who completed her quest will be able to get more of her assigned items for a discount. Everything else... you gotta pay full price, baby!

FOLLOW THE BUTTERFLIES

Yeah, so Larry's a little cracked in the head.

It's okay though, because it's relatively easy to catch a moth, right? Right?

Wrong.

The moth's just about as big as a character's face.

As such, it's actually pretty easy to find the moths. They're usually hanging around the light sources, or on or under the nettles in the caves. They seem to stick to wherever they're at though, which is kind of weird. Those little suckers seem to have suckers attached to their feet!

That is, unless a character has a bright piece of cloth or clothing on them. Think this but with less human endangerment and more moth dust everywhere if you touch it with your bare skin. The dust from these guys itch like hell, and the only way to deal with it is to wash it off. But we're trying to take the "butterfly" to Larry, right? Well, you could kill it and bring it to him. You could just simply capture it alive somehow in a sack or some such item and bring it to him. How does he want it? Does he have a preference? What will he give in return? Well, it's the black market... so anything can happen. :)

Larry doesn't seem to like to talk to anyone who's done any world ending crimes (Ragna don't come near him, he'll throw rocks) or vandalism, muttering something about how they just like to kill all the butterflies and something about the circle of life. But he'll give them a reward if they bring his cherished butterfly to him... maybe.

Well, this one's for anyone and everyone. Bob's not going to really complain about the help, no matter who it comes from at this point, so long as you don't smell funny. Which is ironic, considering this is hard work that might work up a sweat. Bob and some others have been tasked with putting in lights in the caves -- string lights in some places, bulbs in basic fixtures in more public scenes. When did they pop up? Were they there yesterday? If you ask, Bob just says it's not his job to know these sorts of things, that it's just his job to work. Outlets and things of that nature have popped up as well, and again? He doesn't care, he's just getting paid. Paid more than you lot, definitely.

He'll put whoever comes to him to work, and it's a long day's work that he gives. There's a break for lunch (mostly for his benefit), before going back to it. It's only when it's "nighttime" that he finishes, and he'll disappear into the relative dark without paying you.

Well, he'll pay you. Eventually.

The rewards (and therefore payments) for this quest is a small amount of coins to use with the shopkeepers, but what might be most important is the lights. With the coins might come a lamp (when did that outlet get there?), a pretty nice flashlight with batteries, or a lantern with batteries. You might still be stuck underground, but at least we can see better! Right?

COOL GUYS DON'T LOOK AT EXPLOSIONS

Surprisingly enough, if someone is at the mission board, they'll be approached by a small child. They look roughly between 8-9 years old, and they seem to be really attracted to people with world ending or other destructive crimes. They'll look at you, hands on your hips... and then nod to themselves.

"Let's go blow some shit up. That guy did it all wrong."

Who's "that guy"? Well. We should know by now, don't we?

The kid begins to lead the willing (?) character to the site of the explosion they'd like to make, which seems to just be a random wall. The kid looks at you expectantly, hands on hips now.

"Well? Blow it up!"

Characters with powers can blow up the wall that's requested, or they can purchase some dynamite from the black market. But it's up to them to figure out, because they kid...

???? Where did the kid go? As soon as your character turns their back on them, they've disappeared. Well, nothing to do but see what happens, you suppose. Or you just walk away at this point, it doesn't really matter. If you walk away, obviously you won't get to blow anything up, hence no reward. Or... "reward".

Anywho, if your character decides to take their anger out on the wall and blow it up anyway, it seems like they've blown their way into a whole different room. The smell of petrichor wafts out, and what's seen inside is...

I'VE GOT FRIENDS ON THE OTHER SIDE

It's basically what it says on the note. As soon as the items are brought to Tabita, she grins at you. She's middle aged, with graying red hair that's pulled into a bun. She gestures for you to sit across from her... and then she'll read your future with the item you brought her.

Zek will be working on this quest at least once! Realistically he'd try to work through at least three separate days but be too worn out to do much more than that within the month, and he's mostly in it for the sake of helping to make the cavern less miserable for everybody. But...

Martin will be assisting a couple people with lights this month!

Martin will also be catching a "butterfly" and regretting all of his life choices as the itching takes hold. He will be bringing it back alive, bundled in his flannel shirt. Please give him his shirt back, Larry.

Larry jumps with joy and claps like a small child. He presents to Martin his own moth, which seems more normal. It doesn't stick to him or make him itch, but it'll be with him temporarily (or not, depending on preference). It seems pretty determined to show Martin something though, so it'll keep fluttering around him until he follows it. It brings him to the evening primrose, and alights on the flower, as if satisfied its own mission. On picking it, if Martin applies the juices from the stem to the itchy spots on his skin from the moth he'd brought Larry, it'll soothe that. It'll also help with bruises, minor injuries, and other sorts of skin inflammation.* If he picks some and comes back the next day, he'll find that there will be more, just for him. If others haven't done the quest and attempts to pick it, it'll wither up until Martin himself picks it.

(*Mods are aware there aren't any actual proof of medicinal uses for it, but just using it for rp's sake)

When he brings the bear back to Scraps, she gives him a wide, toothy grin. "Come back in an hour, my sweet." She tells him.

When he comes back, she'll have a nice stew ready for him with herbs, grains, and of course, the bear meat. As far as the extra ingredients go... who knows where she got them from. If he comes back once a day for the rest of the month, he can get a bowl of this stew for himself or someone else from her.

Tabita scrutinizes Igarak for a moment, and looks down at the water. "I am much better at seeing the future - I cannot see as well into the past. Do you still wish to look into your past?"

"The future will make itself known in time," he says, "but the past is a mystery to me. I'd be grateful if you can tell me anything at all."

[ his memory is a complete blank, lol. the wiki outlines the general dark urge history, and then I have a history section in another journal that's more tailored to Igarak himself without contradicting anything in canon, if that is useful! ]
